That we"ll remember...

"These are the days, that we'll remember"

I can't count the times that this song has resonanted through my mind. It rings true yet again following a family holiday that is probably best forgotten. Terrible things happening usually spark your mind to follow with something more proactive and productive.

I don't "do" New Year's resolutions. Ever. Everything that I've ever tried to start doing- I usually end up dropping and not following through on. Well, I take that back. I did get into wine and have continued to drink my way through various bottles of lovely Reds. I digress. Last year in February, I started to get myself into shape by paying better attention to my diet, doing some yoga and strength training. 2 months later, I fell off the wagon. Then I got on again and off shortly thereafter. Repeat process x2 more times. I don't necessarily need to lose weight, but it's more a desire to just be more healthy. I eat pretty healthily, but I'm lacking in the activity area. My ideal night is to curl up on the couch, hide under a blanket and disappear into the world of television. My ideal night has turned into a series of one ideal night after another.

So, here starts my quest. It takes 21 days to make a habit. I want to make exercise a part of my routine. Since I don't do New Year's resolutions, I'm starting a 21 day journey instead. I can do this, right?

Here's the plan:
-I will walk Lia at least 2 times per week during the cold months and daily when it gets warmer.
-I will exercise in 2 day spurts, giving myself 1 day of rest afterwards. 2 days on, 1 day off. Repeat.
-I will start to log my daily food intake to see what nasty habits I've created.

The plan is on paper and my 21 day journey started today. I logged 30 minutes on my Wii Fit. :)
